This blog is a collection of anecdotal thoughts and moments that capture the essence of Emmett's life with type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a horrible diseases that has left Emmett insulin dependent. If he does not receive daily insulin injections, he will die. There is nothing that Emmett or we--his parents--could have done to prevent this disease, and scientists and doctors still don't know why he even has it.
